Investigative thrillers have always been well-received in Malayalam films. AYURREKHA is one such film after NAADYA KOLLAPETTA RATHRIYIL.

The story begins with the murder of Dr. Aparna. She had been staying with her only son since she separated form her husband Dr.Venugopal. She also owns a successfully running hospital. One day Dr. Aparna who don’t have any known enemies found dead in her bed room.

Her sudden death puts everybody in suspicion. Whether its s murder or suicide? Why should she be murdered?

Initial investigations claimed it as a suicide. But one day an anonymous email to police headquarters suggested some facts about the murder which points out that Dr was the victim of a cold blooded murder.

S P George Jacob is in charge of the re investigation. Sreenivasan is playing the role of S P George Jacob, who never had been with any investigation as he is engaged in office work than the field work.

Mukesh play the role of Thriprayar Madhavan kutty, a struggling musician come singer. He has a soft corner to Dr.Aparna, always trying to give a good impression to Aparna. Hope it will eventually lead him to marry her and he can make his stand safe and secure. His roommate Thankappan Pillai by Jagathy Sreekumar, a medical representative want to make good of this soft corner and adviced Thankapan pillai to tell Dr. to take his medicine to the hospital.

After the success of ARABIKADHA, Sreenivasan is playing the main role of SP George Jacob, Urvasi as his wife in this crime thriller. Nedumudi venu Mukesh. Jagathy Sreekumar, salim kumar, indrajith, jothirmayee all rendered good performances in supporting roles.

The movie based on the short story “ REKHAKALIL ILLATAHTHU” by K K Sudhakaran is directed by G M Manu Dennis Joseph, penned script and dialogues. Lyrics by ONV Kurup is tuned by Sabeesh George.
