Gently roast the parippu/dal in a pan for a few minutes.
Pressure cook the parippu/lentils in 3 cups of water along with salt and 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder. Pressure cook for 2 whistles on medium flame so that the dal is well cooked.
Heat 2 tsp ghee in a pan and saute the diced shallots, green chillies and curry leaves.
Pour this seasoning over the cooked lentils and mix well.
You may also use mustard seeds while seasoning the dal.
