Channa Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
- Channa (kadala) - 2 cups
- Tomato - 1 no
- Onion - 1 no
- Ginger (minced) - 1 tsp
- Garlic (minced) - 1 tsp
- Red onion (chopped) - 1 cup
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves - A few
- Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - As reqd
Preparation:
- Soak chickpeas overnight in water.
- Pressure cook the chickpeas until tender.Grind together the tomato and onion.
- Heat oil in a pan.Add the chopped ginger,garlic,onions,saute till translucent.
- Now add the onion-tomato paste,red chiily powder, coriander powder, the cooked chickpeas and salt.
- Mix well so that the chickpeas are nicely coated in the gravy.
- Add the garam masala and mix again.
- Remove from heat and garnish with coriander leaves
