Unniyappam Recipe
Ingredients:
- Rice flour - 1 cup
- Banana (palayamkodan, smashed) - 2 nos
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup
- Salt - a pinch
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
- Roasted coconut pieces - 1 tsp
- Soda powder - a pinch
- Oil - for deep frying
Preparation:
- Heat jaggery in pan and add little water.
- Mix smashed banana and rice powder together with out any lumps and add this in to Jaggery.
- Add cardamom powder, coconut pieces, salt, soda powder.
- Take the "Appakkara" (special vessel for making unniappam) and pour oil to each hole.
- When it boils, pour the mix. Fry both the sides till golden brown.
