Jeeraka Kanji Recipe
Ingredients:
- Basmati rice - 1 cup
- Cumin seeds (Jeerakam) - 3 tsp or as reqd
- Coconut (grated) - 1/2 cup
- Garlic pod - 1 no (optional)
- Salt - As reqd
- Water - As reqd
Preparation:
- Grind together jeerakam, coconut and garlic with a little water. Keep aside.
- In a pressure cooker, add washed basmati rice, ground jeerakam and coconut paste.
- Pour water as required and salt into it.
- Cook for 5 minutes.
- Do not let the pressure cooker to whistle.
- Keep out of flame for another 5 minutes.
- Mix well before use.
- Serve hot.
