Kerala Pickle Recipes

→ Lime Pickle → Dry Mango Pickle → Carrot Pickle
→ Ginger Pickle → Nelllikka Achar → Onion Pickle
→ Fish Pickle → Prawns Pickle → Meat Pickle


Meat (Beef) Pickle Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Tender beef cut into cubes - ½ kg
  • Vinegar - 1 cup
  • Onions (finely chopped) - ½ cup
  • Ginger - 1 piece
  • Garlic - 1 tsp
  • Cloves - 10 nos
  • Chilly powder - ½ cup
  • Haldi powder - ½ tsp
  • Mustard - 1 tsp
  • Methi – 1 tsp
  • Curry Patha - a few
  • Coconut oil - ½ cup
  • Salt - to taste


Preparation:

  1. Boil the meat with vinegar and salt until half done.
  2. Fry in oil and keep aside.
  3. Roast mustard and methi and grind with rest of the ingredients.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, fry the onions, and then add the ground masala.
  5. Add vinegar and mix with the meat.
  6. Remove from fire. Cool and bottle it.
  7. This will keep for a month.
