Mutton Chilly Fry Recipe
Ingredients:
- Mutton - 1 kg
- Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
- Ginger (finely chopped) - 2 tsp
- Salt - As reqd
- Onion (sliced) - 2 nos
- Green chillies (slit lengthwise) - 10 nos
- Ginger - 1 inch piece (finely chopped)
- Garlic pods - 10 nos (finely chopped)
- Tomato (medium) - 2 nos (sliced)
- Coconut Oil - 5 tbsp
Masala Powder:
- Chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Spices powder - 1 tsp
- Fennel seeds - 1 tbsp
- Cinnamon - 6 nos (1 inch)
- Cloves - 2 nos
Preparation:
- Clean mutton and cut them into cubes
- Cook well the meat with water, salt, turmeric powder and finely chopped ginger.
- Grind the whole spices mentioned under the ‘Masala Powder’ to make a fine powdered masala.
- Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
- Saute the onions until it turns pale pink.
- Add the green chillies, ginger and garlic and continue to saute.
- Add the masala powder along with tomato pieces and saute, until the oil starts to separate.
- Add the gravy of the cooked meat alone and heat until it starts to thicken.
- Add the cooked meat and mix well.
- Continue to heat until it turns dry. Remove from fire.
- Serve hot with rice or Palappam, chappathi or porotta.
