Mutton Cutlet Recipe
Ingredients:
- Minced mutton (lamb) meat - 1 lb
- Potato (medium) - 3 nos (boiled and mashed)
- Onion (medium) - 1 (finely chopped)
- Grated ginger - 1/2 inch piece
- Garlic (crushed) - 2 cloves
- Green chili - 2 (finely chopped)
- Red chili powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1 tsp (optional)
- Paper powder - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Coconut oil - 3 tablespoons
- Ghee - 1 tablespoon
- Powdered bread crumbs - 1 cup
- Egg - 2 nos (beaten)
- Coriander leaves (finely chopped) - 1 cup
Preparation:
- Add the turmeric power, red chili powder and salt to the mutton and mix well. Set aside.
- Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the onion, ginger-garlic and green chili until the onion is golden colour.
- Add the seasoned mutton and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add garam masala, lemon juice and chopped cilantro and stir well.
- Cook for 5 more minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
- Add mashed potato and chopped coriander leaves to the meat mixture.
- Make lemon sized balls of the mixture and shape it into an oval or round shape.
- Dip this in the egg (beaten) and coat evenly with bread crumbs.
- Make the remaining cutlets in the same way.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry few at a time until golden.
- Drain on paper powder and serve hot.
