Pal Payasam Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Milk - 1 litre
  • Raw rice - 1/4 cup
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Cardamom (Elakka) powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cashew nuts - 10 nos
  • Raisins (Kismis) - As reqd
  • Ghee for frying


Preparation:

  1. Heat milk in a pan and when it boils add raw rice.
  2. Keep the flame low and stir continuously until the quantity reduces to one-half.
  3. Add sugar and powdered cardamom.
  4. Roast cashewnuts and raisins in ghee and add it to the payasam.
  5. Serve hot or chilled.
