Kerala Breakfast Dishes

→ Uppuma → Kozhukkatta  


Uppuma Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Rava - 2 cups
  • Chopped Onion - medium 2 nos
  • Chopped Green Chilly - 4 nos
  • Crushed Ginger - 1/2 inch long
  • Curry leaves - 2 Sprigs
  • Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - little
  • Ghee - 2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste


Preparation:

  1. Heat the rava till it becomes mild brown.
  2. Heat the ghee and fry the mustard seed.
  3. Add chopped onion, chilly, ginger and coriander leaves to it and fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Add 5 cups water and boil.
  5. Add rava to the boiling water little by little stirring the water properly.
  6. Cook until it is thick
  7. Serve it with hot with bananas.
