Mushroom Biriyani Recipe
Ingredients:
- Basmati Rice - 1 cup
- Button mushrooms - 1 cup
- Onion(chopped) - 1 no
- Cloves(Grambu) - 3 nos
- Cardamom(Elakka) - 1 no
- Bay leaves(Karuga/Vazhana ela) - 2
- Black pepper(Kurumulaku) - 4 nos
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/2 tsp
- Cabbage(grated) - 1/2 cup
- Cashewnuts(chopped) - 4 nos
- Oil - 4 tbsp
- Water - 2 cups(approx)
- Salt - As reqd
Preparation:
- Wash rice and soak for 1/2 hour.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, black pepper and cardamoms.
- Add cashewnut pieces and simmer for 1 minute.
- Add onions and fry till golden brown.
- Add mushrooms and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Add rice, cabbage, garam masala and salt.
- Add water and cover the pan.
- Cook on slow flame till rice is done.
- Serve with Veg. Kurma, Onion Salad, Pickle and Pappad.
