Ingredients
• 1 cup cherries (cut into small pieces)
• 1cup dried citrus peel
• 2 cups raisins
• 1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
• 1 cup almonds
• 1/2 cup brandy
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1 teaspoon ground allspice
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup butter (dalda)
• 2 cups packed brown sugar
• 6 eggs
Method
Mix cherries, citrus peel, raisins and almonds in a bowl with ½ cup brandy and leave for 3 hours. Dredge soaked fruit with 1/2 cup flour In another bowl mix well the remaining flour, baking soda, cloves, all spices, cinnamon and salt. Take butter in a large bowl and add eggs one by one and beat well. Also add brown sugar. To this add the prepared flour mixture and fruits alternatively and stir well. Grease the cake pan with butter, line it with butter paper and grease it again with butter. To this pan put the cake mixture half filled and cook in 275degrees preheated oven till it is baked fully. Or until a small knife inserted into the center of cake comes out clean.
