Fort Kochi Beach

Fort Kochi is a fishing village, about 12 km from Ernakulam City, became the first European township in India.The town was shaped by the Portuguese, the Dutch and later the British. The results of these cultural interfaces are seen in the remains of the Indo European architecture here. Fort Kochi beach is the finest beach of Kerala. The main attraction of fort kochi beach is the historic fort that is the best example of Indo- European architecture.

Marari Beach

The beach, in the heart of the “Spice Coast”, just between Kochi and Aleppey, Marari Beach, is a pristine beach. . Miles of clean sand, majestic coconut groves, and the sound of waves splashing on the seashore make it breathtakingly beautiful. Mararikulam is a small fishing village near this beach and hence the beach got the name MARARI BEACH. For decades the lives in the village remain unchanged. Men go for fishing every morning to have their lively hood while the ladies perform the necessary household cores.

Marari BeachStand on Marari Beach and look out to the sea. We can see the endless beach stretching away on either side, rows of palm trees forming a green wall behind the beach and the expanse of the blue Arabian Sea in front of us. It is an ideal beach to be in peace and tranquility unlike the hurries and worries of the city life. Wewill get a first hand experience of the local traditions, customs and hospitality of Kerala.

The nearby coir making workshops are another fascinating insight into local culture. Coir is made from the husk of the coconut and is used to create many useful items such as mats and brushes.

Bolghatty Palace

Bolghatty is a charminmg island near Ernakulam city. It is famous for Bolghatty Palace, once the residence of British resident of Kochi, built by Dutch. Now it is a Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Hotel. The palace is two-storied and contains well-decorated bed chambers, a huge lounge wherein historical portraits are displayed. The ferry ride from the mainland Ernakulam to the island is a pleasurable experience. There is a golf course to boot.

Shanghumukham Beach

Near to Trivandrum, Shanmukham Beach is a favorite haven of sunset watchers. An indoor recreation club, the matsya kanyaka and a restaurant shaped like a starfish are the major attractions here.

Thangasseri Beach

Situated near Kollam Town, Thangasherry beach has many historical sites. Kollam was one of the oldest and most important port for international cashew trade on the Malabar coast. Hence Thangasseri was once favoured by the Portuguese, Dutch and the British has its place in history due to the ruins of their old forts. We can also see the churches built in the 18th century. One of the major attractions is 144 ft tall Light House which is used to warn the seafarers about the dangerous reefs in the Thangasseri coastline.

Thangasseri BeachWhen you are in Thangasseri Beach, enjoy absolute serenity and strolling in the glistening sandy beach. Sunbathing is one of the most favored beach activities. Feel the scenic bliss and unwind yourself at the beachside. The beach of Thangasseri Kollam is a nice hideaway for romantic holidays.

Thangasseri beach stands out from other beaches in its glory and natural beauty that attracts the tourists. It is a dream destination where you will find peace amidst sand, shores and sea. The Thangasseri beach stands as a silent spectator of the golden past and the glorious present. This beach envisions the glory of life and ages.

Muzhappilangad Beach

One of the longest beaches of Kerala is Muzhappilangad beach near Kannur. It is the only drive-in beach of India, which makes it unique from all other beaches not in Kerala but in India. The beach is clean and well maintained and is one of the best places to hang around when in Kannur. Its shores are lined with black rocks to protect it from heavy waves and form a soothing pool of shallow waters that is a swimmer's paradise. The palm grove fringing the beach is a cool hideaway from the tropical sun.

The lovely Dharmadam Island is located over here, just a few meters from the shore. The island and the beach look absolutely beautiful.
