Alappuzha Beach
Allapuzha is one of the most fascinating districts of Kerala also known as “Venice of The East”. It is famous for a multitude of things and Alappuzha beach is a popular tourist spot in Alleppey (Alapuzha) district. There are many lagoons, lakes, fresh water rivers etc which makes Alapuzha blessed with nature’s green beauties. Its famous backwater Houseboats and Boat races attracts thousands of tourists every year. The famous boat race “Nehru Trophy Vallam Kali” is held in Alleppy in honour of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is also in Alleppey. It is really a natural wonderland of Kerala.
The Alleppey beach is amazing with dense palm groves at one end. It has a long sandy beach and also Vijaya Park near it for entertainment and enjoyment. Bekal Beach
Bekel beach, beautiful sandy beach located at a distance of 14 km from Kasargode is really worth seeing. The serene atmosphere, the enthralling rhythm of waves as they roll up makes bakel beach calm and heavenly one. It is located near Bakel Fort, one of the historic forts of Kearla which is well maintained. It extends about 35 acres and occupies a commanding position on the peninsula. The view from the Bekal Fort of the green palms, the white sand, the blue sea and the rolling waves is truly breathtaking. The nearest airport to Bekal Beach is Mangalore in Karnataka, India, which is 50 Km away. Kasargod is connected by rail and road to the rest of Kerala. The best time of year to visit Bekal Beach is from August to March.
Beypore Beach
Beypore is one of the prominent ports and fishing harbours of ancient Kerala. It is located at the mouth of Chaliyar River. It was an important trade and maritime center for merchants from Western Asia. It was earlier famous for the Ship Building industry. Beypore was famous for the construction of Uru, the traditional Arabian trading vessel. Beypore also has a magnificent bridge built entirely of stone. The bridge is made by huge stones piled together to make a pathway into the sea for nearly 2 km. |
